Dahl (slow cooker)

Ingredients

  • 3 cups red lentils
  • 6 cups water
  • 1 can tin tomatoes
  • 1 onion
  • 5 cloves garlic
  • 1 thumb sized piece of ginger
  • 1 tbsp turmeric
  • 2 tsp cumin
  • 1 1/2 tsp cardamom
  • 1 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp fennel seeds
  • 1 bay leaf
  • Salt and pepper

Method

Place all ingredients in a slow cooker for 7-9 hours on low.
